FaceSavannah Cosmetic Surgery: Face
As people age the effects of their everyday lives start to show on their face. Sun exposure, stress, and gravity can result in deep creases and wrinkles around the eyes, nose, mouth and jowls, and fat deposits around the neck. This process adds years the look of your face. Dr. Most can perform a variety of different procedures to help you look and feel better about yourself. |
Facelift / Mini Facelift
A facelift is a cosmetic surgery procedure designed to help men and women achieve a more youthful facial appearance. As we age, our skin loses its elasticity and begins to sag. This process can leave your face looking tired and worn, with deep wrinkles, hollow cheeks, jowls and loose skin in the lower face and neck. A Facelift can address all of these issues and help you look 10 or even 20 years younger.
A facelift can produce remarkable results. However, the procedure only targets certain parts of the face — namely, the mid-face, lower face and jawline. You may find that other areas of your face require attention in addition to or instead of those areas that can be addressed with a facelift. In this case, we may recommend additional or alternative procedures as listed on this page below.
Mini Facelift
A newer version of the face lift that can be done on a Friday and you are ready to go out on Monday has become dubbed as the mini face lift as well as the weekend face lift. Unlike a regular face lift that focuses on the entire face, the weekend face lift focuses on certain areas that may need attention. In a mini face lift, a smaller incision is made and the surgeon uses an endoscopic scope to reposition the skin to create a more youthful look.
If all you want to do is to reduce the signs of aging because you feel that you are too young to already be noticing fine lines and wrinkles, then the mini face lift may be right for you. If you are past fine lines and wrinkles and have begun to notice sagging and drooping of the facial skin, then chances are you would be better suited for a traditional facelift.
Brow Lift
If you are bothered by expression lines or other signs of aging in the brow region, a brow lift may be right for you. A brow lift will help in several different areas as follows:
It can minimize the creases that develop across the forehead, or those that occur high on the bridge of the nose, between the eyes. It improves what are commonly referred to as frown lines, vertical creases that develop between the eyebrows.
It repositions a low or sagging brow that is hooding the upper eyelid. It raises the eyebrows to a more alert and youthful position. Rejuvenation procedures typically performed in conjunction with a brow lift include eyelid surgery to rejuvenate aging eyes, facelift to correct aging changes in the mid to lower face and neck regions, and lastly skin resurfacing techniques.
Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery)
Droopy eyelids can make you look older and can also impair vision. Blepharoplasty corrects these problems and also removes puffiness and bags under the eyes that make you look worn and tired. This surgical procedure can restore a youthful appearance to the eye area.
The upper and lower eyelids are lifted and loose or excess skin and fat tissue are removed from the eye area. The procedure is limited to the eyelids and may be combined with methods to improve other areas of the face.
Brow lifts, which raise the eyebrows or keep them from sagging over the eyes, may be recommended to help improve the upper third of the face.
Otoplasty (Ear Surgery)
Otoplasty, or cosmetic ear surgery, is intended to change the appearance of the external portion of your ears. Ear plastic surgery can re-position ears excessively protruding from the side of the head, reduce the size of very large ears, or reshape bends in cartilage.
Other reconstructive otoplasty procedures can deal with deformed ears, but many otoplasty ear surgeries are performed because the individual is simply unhappy about the size or shape of their ears. What is important for successful otoplasty is that the ears be in proportion to the size and shape of the face and head.
Rhinoplasty (Nose Surgery)
Do you feel uncomfortable with the way your nose looks? Rhinoplasty surgery can correct a variety of conditions including an over-sized nose, a hump on the bridge, an undesirable shape of the nasal tip or a narrow or wide span of the nostrils.
Both frontal and profile views of the nose are corrected to complement other facial features, and to provide a balance of proportions.
Rhinoplasty surgery can also be used to correct breathing problems caused by narrow or partially obstructed nostrils. The nasal bones and associated cartilages are moved and modified in order to change the underlying structure to a more pleasing contour.
Neck Lift
A neck lift can tighten the skin and remove fat in the neck. Having a neck lift reduces the wrinkles and loose skin associated with aging and provides a taut, slimmer profile. The procedure is done on an outpatient basis and may take a few hours to perform.
After receiving either general anesthesia or local anesthesia with intravenous sedation, the plastic surgeon will then tighten the muscles in the neck and remove excess skin and fat. After surgery, your plastic surgeon will wrap a pressure dressing around your head and underneath your chin.
Injectable Fillers
If you would like to restore facial contours, or reduce the appearance of lines and creases, injection therapy with soft tissue fillers may be right for you. Injectable fillers can plump thin lips, enhance shallow contours, soften facial creases and wrinkles and improve the appearance of recessed scars.
Injectable fillers include Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid, Hydroxylapatite and Human fat which is harvested from your own body.
Other types of injectable treatments include BOTOX® Cosmetic which is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles to temporarily treat moderate to severe frown lines between the brows of adults 18 to 65 years of age. It works by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles. This reduces muscle activity that causes those lines to form between the brows.
JUVÉDERM® XC is the smooth gel filler that your doctor uses to instantly smooth away wrinkles around your mouth and nose. With just one treatment, you’ll get smooth and natural-looking results that last up to a year.
The Restylane family of products includes Restylane, Restylane-L, Perlane, and Perlane-L and can be used to add volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth. Restylane may also be used for lip enhancement in patients over 21 years.
